I never knew ND started basketball until after the bowl game. Oh wait, I guess this year it's official since we are not going to a bowl game- bring on hoops!! Inside scoop on early Irish is that there is a new commitment to defense, but they are only fooling themselves!! We will rely on scoring droves of points which we should be able to continue to do with a viscous inside/outside game with perimeter shooting from Mcalarney (had all year to practice his shooting) and Ayers, the driving presence of Jackson, strong inside game of Harangody and Kurz with Hillesland being a spark off the bench. Some of the young players look promising, but Nash will probably be the only one to put in serious minutes and I think Peoples will also give some surprising minutes off the bench. I predict an 18 win season with 1 or 2 good upsets and 3 or 4 losses in close games we should have pulled out. There you have it from the front row of exhibition season!!
